- Use Cases
The Oculus Quest is the next generation of VR headsets. It allows for complete tracking of the headset without any external sensors (like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive). This means that you can put on the headset in any room, and directly transport yourself into Virtual Reality! Additionally, the Oculus Quest does not require any powerful PC to run, as it is able to run all from inside the headset. Naturally, the visual quality will not be the same as the Oculus Rift, it’s bigger brother, but you can already expect good quality VR from this headset.
The Oculus Quest is the next iteration of VR headsets. It sits in between the Oculus Go and the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive in terms of power and visual fidelity. This does not mean that it is a bad device, it just means that it is not able to go as deep in the quality and performance than the computer connected devices such the Oculus Rift will be able to. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with a decent 1600 x 1440 per eye display resolution. This is higher than most other devices on the market, but will not do away with the screen-door effect.
It includes a similar in-ear speaker system as the Oculus Go, which vastly improves the immersive experience. With a cost similar to the Oculus Rift, it will lower the bar significantly as it does not require a powerful PC to run VR.
